The weather was gangbusters as the 2017 K of C Annual Memorial Golf Tournament got underway. 52 Golfers were welcomed at the Grand Valley Golf and Country Club, Saturday August 26, under sunny skies with the top foursome of Pat McGrath, Brad Olinski, Brian McGrath and Dave Jaeger taking the honours. The men’s longest drive was made by Doug George, with three ladies tying. Closest to the pin was Jamie Zimmerman, and supervising the Putting Contest, where four golfers tied, was Ann Boehm, the Kitchener and area Co-ordinator of The Children’s Wish Foundation.
Hats off to Brothers Brian Schmalz, Jim Padgett and Pat McGrath for their efforts in coordinating and presenting the event. A sumptuous rolled rib and roast beef dinner was enjoyed by all, and The Children’s Wish Foundation will be receiving a very generous donation from Council 1504, which made the day the success it was.
