It’s Becoming An Annual Tradition

by Gary Megaffin

The brisk December weather greeted shoppers for the popular K of C festive decorations at this year’s edition of the Christkindl Market in Downtown Kitchener. The K of C stand saw brisk sales of the Nativity Scenes and other Christmas ornaments at their relocated site. Final Numbers are not in but early estimates suggest $3000 dollars was raised for local charities. Many thanks go to organizer Brother Mac Graham and the tireless volunteers who braved the elements at this year’s event who devoted their time and energy in production and manning the Christkindl Market sales booth.

Following the parish Masses, sales were brisk as church-goers marvelled at the unique ornaments. The St. Aloysius Council aided Kitchener Knights in their sales. Transactions were made possible by Brothers who were members of their respective parishes. The construction of the wide selection of the Christmas decorations began in the fall and carefully constructed by the Council Elves.
