Knight’s STEAK FRY #1 is in the books!!! What a success!
On Friday August 16, 2019, about 50 people attended the Knight’s Steak Fry #1 at our newly rejuvenated facilities and it was a resounding success!!!
Long serving members recall for many years how successful and fun these events were at the former Columbus Centre on Manitou Drive, and it’s been some time since we’ve held this type of event. All those in attendance to this past week’s event agreed it was fantastic!
Aside from the huge fellowship success, we raised over $600 towards the “Our Everyday Heroes” (OEH) program which is the ongoing program partnering Kitchener Knights with Kitchener Firefighters in bringing smiles and small gifts to sick children & youth at our community hospitals.
After several months of toiling away with a variety of interior renovations, and most recently, major landscaping works, (still some finishing up to do,) the property and building are in very useable state. The “new look” is exciting and refreshing and there will be many more opportunities for our membership, family & friends to enjoy “our clubhouse” and property. Our charcoal grill should be built within the next 1-2 weeks enhancing things that much more.
More steak fry’s, BBQ’s, bonfires, etc. are in the works so keep a look out for events like this one:
August 20th – Steak & Chicken BBQ before the General Membership Meeting…post meeting fellowship, MacLeans Lager draft beer (all proceeds to OEH)
August 29th – Notre Dame Fighting Irish Night! We have booked the facilities for a BBQ gathering with Notre Dame Club of Toronto/Central Ontario to ‘kick-off’ (pun) the season for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Fighting Irish will be playing their season opener (away game) against Louisville Cardinals on Labour Day Monday, September 2nd, 8 pm. Quite likely to be a few members watching that game at the Club.
