MAY 2026

One of the clearest expressions of our Order’s mission—faith lived through service—can be seen in the remarkable level of activity within our Kitchener Council this spring. “Putting Faith into Action” is not just a phrase; it is a way of life for our members, demonstrated through a steady commitment to our parishes and the broader community.

A great example of this has been our busy schedule of community and charitable events. Over the past months, our members have come together in support of initiatives that reflect both compassion and fellowship. From Maple Syrup sales within our parishes to our participation in the renowned Elmira Maple Syrup Festival, and our ever-popular Euchre tournaments, April has been a month filled with meaningful engagement.

As we move into May, that momentum continues with key events such as the KW Trivia Challenge, the Roses for Life Campaign, and our Spring Clean Up efforts—each one offering an opportunity to serve, connect, and give back. These initiatives not only support important causes but also strengthen the bonds within our Council and with the community we are proud to serve.

Behind each of these events are dozens of dedicated volunteers who step forward without hesitation. Whether organizing, cooking, selling, setting up, or simply lending a helping hand, their willingness to give their time and talents is what makes these efforts successful. It is through these acts—both big and small—that our principles of Charity, Unity, and Fraternity truly come alive.

What better testament to “Putting Faith into Action” than the collective efforts of our members working together in service to others? In every handshake, every hour volunteered, and every dollar raised, we see our faith not only professed—but practiced.

APRIL 2026

Members of the Kitchener Knights of Columbus put their faith into action by living the Gospel through service to our parish, our community, and those in need. Inspired by our Catholic faith, and guided by the principles of our Order, we strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

At the parish level, Knights assist with many activities that strengthen the spiritual life of the community. Members volunteer at parish events, support liturgical celebrations, and help organize devotions such as the Stations of the Cross and other important moments in the Church year. By being present and active, we help build a stronger and more welcoming faith community.

Charity is at the heart of what we do. The Kitchener Knights of Columbus raise funds and volunteer time to support local charities, families in need, and organizations that serve the vulnerable. Fund raising events, including the KW Trivia Challenge, Parish Maple Syrup sales, and the Royal Medieval Faire, enable us to provide financial support to many local initiatives, working to ensure that those facing hardship are not forgotten.

We also support families and promote the dignity of life. Programs that recognize the importance of family, faith formation, and respect for life are central to our mission. Whether assisting youth programs, supporting parish families, or participating in pro-life initiatives, our Knights work to uphold the values of our Catholic faith.

Just as importantly, the Knights foster friendship and fraternity among members. By gathering regularly, supporting one another, and working together in service, we build strong bonds that strengthen both our faith and our community.

Through prayer, service, and fellowship, the Kitchener Knights of Columbus truly put our faith into action every day.

Throughout 2025, our Knights raised net proceed exceeding $30,000 for our Charities committee (Brothers Gerry, Patrick and Brian), to recommend to disperse throughout our community.

The combined funds were raised from: 1. Bingo's and 2. Council events and community contributions

Recipients are selected on the basis of their Charity status (ie; a Charity Licensed organization) or a Health, Welfare or Wellbeing need for an individual, family or organization or event within the Community.

Based on the recommendation, of the committee to the Executive team, a motion is brought to the General membership to be "seconded", discussed, with a call to vote for approval.

Charity organizations are normally partial recipients from our "Charity Account"; funds raised exclusively through our licensed BINGO events. Community donations (non-Charity licensed individuals, organizations or events) when approved by the committee, are funded from Council's General Account.
