Willkommen! – On Sunday October 30, 2016, the 46th annual Kitchener K of C and District 35 Sister’s Oktoberfest unfolded at the Waterloo Knights’ Hall. 31 Reverend Sisters were on hand to enjoy an afternoon of fine German music, dancing, authentic cuisine and good ol’ fashioned Gemütlichkeit. The Grand Knights from St. Mark’s, Waterloo and Kitchener Councils, and their wives, played host for the occasion, as did District Deputy Ted Jasica.
Special guests PGK Jack Nolan and his Lady Knight Lorraine were recognized for their major role in instituting this festival way back in 1970 to honour and recognize our wonderful Catholic Nuns. GK Dave Obermeyer presented the Nolans with the Ontario State Community Longevity Award that Kitchener Council received at the April 2016 State Convention. Virtually all Sisters in attendance were thrilled, and remarked that their day was simply Wunderbar!
