Face Painting was a hit!
Face Painting was a hit!

Our Council Summer Picnic on June 27 was a tremendous success!

We were blessed with wonderful weather, making it the perfect day for families and friends to gather for an afternoon of fun, food, and fellowship.

We welcomed about 70 people, including 33 children, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere throughout the day.

The event wouldn't have been possible without our dedicated volunteers. A sincere thank you to our early morning setup crew, who began preparing everything at 9:00 a.m.: Event Chairs Jean and Steve Constant with Paul Baganol, Zackary McCormick, Tim Rumig, Paul McGinnity, and Whit Husk.

Their hard work ensured everything was ready for our guests. GK Mario welcomed and thanked all those who volunteered throughout the past year.  "Your efforts make us who we are".

The festivities officially began at 12:00 noon, with everyone enjoying a delicious picnic lunch around 1:30 p.m. We were fortunate to have a fantastic team of cooks, including Tony Darmanin, Pat Olinski, and a new member, Ugo Emacheta. Thank you for preparing such a great meal for everyone to enjoy.

The children were especially entertained by Riley, our talented face painter, and Jared from Enchanted Entertainment, whose balloon creations were nothing short of amazing. They were outstanding with the children and brought smiles to countless faces. Many agreed they were among the best entertainers we've ever had at one of our events.

A special thank you also goes to Matthew Griffin and Chris Rank, who supervised the bouncy castle throughout the afternoon, helping to keep everyone safe while the children had a fantastic time.

There was no shortage of activities for all ages. Whit Husk got an exciting game of cornhole (holy boards!) underway, drawing enthusiastic participation from many of the adults. Badminton, volleyball, and plenty of water balloon fun kept everyone active and laughing throughout the afternoon.

As the day came to a close, it was wonderful to see so many people stay behind to help with the cleanup. The teardown was truly a team effort, with everyone pitching in to make quick work of it.

Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, cooked, entertained, and helped make this year's picnic such a memorable event. It was a day filled with friendship, laughter, and community spirit. We look forward to gathering again next year!

If you'd like, I can also make it sound more like a church newsletter, a community newspaper article, or a more casual and conversational blog post.

Thanks to event chair, Steve Constant and our volunteers that kept the events moving along throughout the afternoon.
